In today’s 60 Seconds with Teacher Emil, we take balloon sculpting one step further — and create a balloon giraffe.
Long neck. Tall legs. Big presence.
This activity is more than just twisting balloons. It teaches children:
✔ Sequencing and following steps
✔ Fine motor coordination
✔ Patience and control
✔ Spatial awareness
✔ Confidence in building something “complex”
A giraffe looks impressive — but just like many things in life, it’s created one twist at a time.
That’s the lesson.
When children realise they can construct something tall and detailed from a single balloon, they begin to believe they can build bigger things in other areas of life too.
Creative play builds creative thinking.
Creative thinking builds confident children.
Try it at home, in class, or use it as part of a drama or storytelling activity.
Sometimes, 60 seconds is all it takes to spark imagination.
